New Video Section Now Online!
We recently mentioned that our new video section is almost ready. Now you have the chance to check all the new features that we added.
Just as we previously announced, our video section is now ready! If you didn't have the chance to read the change log, you can do so by clicking on this news.
We also had a talk with the project manager LuckyLukeDE, who made it all possible.
PokerStrategy.com: What was the idea behind revamping the video section?
: The old video section was very basic
and outdated, because it was designed at the very beginning of
PokerStrategy.com. All the videos were only listed by main categories
and there was no possibility to order or filter the videos. Because of
the constantly increasing number of videos, this did not longer work
out very well. So we decided to start a project to build a completely
new video section which would allow our users to search, order and
filter for all kinds of video attributes.
PokerStrategy.com: What are the features you are most proud of?
: Definitely the fancy limit-range
slider, which allows to narrow down results to only the limits you are
interested in. I guess that's a very new feature to poker related
searches and I haven't seen this at other poker websites so far.
The other one is the tag search. It works not only with the exact tag
typed in, but also with similar words or even abbreviations. Also you
can search for non-English tags, but you will also find videos with the
corresponding English tag (and vice versa). I guess most users will be
more impressed by other features, but from the technical and
organizational point of view, this one was really our biggest
challenge.
PokerStrategy.com: Can we expect additional features for the video section in the future?
: Of course. We are already collecting
ideas internally and we hope and expect to get even more input from the
users when it's online. The new video section is the first shot of a
new development and so it will be continuously enhanced in the future.
