As for poker, this was one of the most successful weeks for PokerStrategists, as a tremendous amount of cashes were reported - adding over $28k to our One Million in a Year goal.

His name is Akinator and he lives in iphones where he spends all of his time guessing what famous person or a character you have envisioned in your head. If it weren't for arisko, half of us wouldn't even know about this guy, let alone spend hours coming up with weird famous people for Akinator to guess.
This little iphone genie is not perfect, but his soul reads will almost certainly stun you at least once. If you wish to put his reading skills to a test or comment them, you can do so in this week's top thread.

Poker Blog of the Week
Some people like to use the cold winter days to sit at home wrapped up in a blanket and watch movies, others like to play ice hockey (some call them Canadians) and finally, there are some who like to do good old-fashioned iron man challenges.
adapter1337 challenged 1wayman (or was it the other way around?) to a 10 days marathon competition in poker. The challenge is about playing more hours of poker than your opponent, with the action taking place at the cash game tables on Full Tilt Poker. In order to win, either of them not only needs to play the most hours, but make profit as well.

New Community Members this Week
March of our new members as they made their first cyber steps into our community was thunderous this week. Besides the Europeans, Asians were also spotted and not to forget the folks at the bottom right corner of the world map. All in all, we've had newcomers from all over the world this week and here are some of them:

- mrbicycle sends us a hello from Singapore.
- alieaz hails from the land Down Under (can you hear the thunder?).

Performances of the Week
It's ten percent luck, twenty percent dealt cards, fifty percent power of will and a hundred percent Yoghi. Yes, it's another one of those weeks with hefty cashes from our members. is leading the pack with his win of the $7200 package to Irish Open 2011 on 888poker.
Below are some of the other notable performances from PokerStrategists this week:
- bigniux won ~$5,000 in various MTTs.
- goorukyong won ~$2,500 in various MTTs.
- geoelt finished 5th in FTP's 42k ($26) for $2,638.
- mrpavlos won a $10+$0.20 tournament for $1,280.
One Million in a Year - Total Winnings (Week 17): $296.774,37
Nearly $29,000 was added to our One Million in a Year goal this week. The blue line is certainly not happy to see us almost scratching it's belly, but if we keep on going at this pace - its defeat is inevitable. There were many notable cashes from our members this week, from pennies to thousands of dollars, they all made their impact on our progress. You can check out these cashes or report your own in the thread dedicated to this goal, or a challenge if you prefer calling it that way.
