Interview with Fongie
PokerStrategy.com: Hi Fongie. It would be great if you could briefly introduce yourself to our members.
fongie: Hi! My name is Max. I am 20 years old and live in Stockholm, Sweden. I recently started studying archaeology at the university, after being a small stakes grinder for a year.
When I don't play poker I fence (as in the sport fencing, not building fences for all you funny people), and play guitar in a band. I have a blog in the forum where I write and post video blogs.
PokerStrategy.com: Since when has poker been a part of your life?
fongie: A few months after I turned 18... Summer 2008 or so...
PokerStrategy.com: Please tell us a bit about your poker career so far.
fongie: I played SSS for about half a year, before dropping poker for a few months. I found the passion again though and started playing BSS 6max on NL10 in March 2009. I rose fairly quickly through the micro stakes with some ups and downs, and started playing NL100SH in autumn 2009, when I also went pro. I have now been playing NL100SH for a year, with some HU and FR mixed in.
I recently picked up PLO, but still suck at that so far. I have been making videos and coaching sessions for the Swedish community for over a year.
Everything you need to become better is passion

PokerStrategy.com: Which limits do you play?
fongie: I currently play NL100SH, NL50-100 HU, and PLO25. I am planning to move up to NL200 shortly.
PokerStrategy.com: What can PokerStrategists expect from your videos? Which limits will we see?
fongie: You can expect videos that help you get through the micro stakes towards the small stakes, from someone who has tons of experience and specializes in coaching the micros. I will be making mainly Bronze and Silver level videos (NL10-50).
PokerStrategy.com: Are there any tips you would like to give our PokerStrategists? What do you think is particularly important to become a better poker player?
fongie: Use all the tools available on PokerStrategy.com - that is what I did. I think one word can summarize everything you need to become better - passion.
If you have a passion for poker, you will have a strong will to become better and a strong will to grind. If you have passion, you will find that you are not playing poker "because I want to win money". When you have passion, the money will start coming in by itself. Oh and... don't tilt.
Maybe that was more of a philosophical outburst, but here's a real tip... watch my videos!
PokerStrategy.com: Thank you for the interview.
