Questions and Answers about our Points Shop

The launch of our Points Shop, which has made StrategyPoints available for purchase for the first time, has been the source of some controversy and led to questions from many. We'd like to try and answer the most important questions.

Question: Why did you introduce the points shop?

Answer: For a couple of years now, there have been requests to make StrategyPoints available in this way from users who, for whatever reason, can't earn enough StrategyPoints to obtain their desired status, but who would be happy to pay for them. With the Points Shop, these users now have a suitable alternative, without affecting the status quo for those who would prefer to earn StrategyPoints in the traditional manner. For those people, nothing has changed.

Question: In the future, will I be disadvantaged in any way because I don't have a subscription?

Answer: No, absolutely not! The points shop is simply an additional way to get StrategyPoints and our status system remains unchanged.

Whether you play for your status or pay for it, you'll have access to exactly the same content and services, and of course we'll still be providing the best bonuses and promotions from our partner rooms.

The income from the points shop will also allow us, for example, to invest more in our video offering. As part of the launch of the points shop, we had the opportunity to adjust the way our content is distributed over the various statuses. That's why we recently reduced the status of several popular videos.

Question: Isn't the Diamond status a little bit expensive?

Answer: Yes, absolutely!

We are fully aware that the price for the Diamond status is very high, and can understand that this has shocked some of you.

However, for us it is very important the Diamond status has, and retains, a certain level of exclusivity.

Question: Why are you offering the Diamond status at all then?

Answer: Because there are members for who the Diamond package does make some sense.

Example: A Black Member is currently not playing tracked. No problem when it comes to using our content and services, because the Black Member Status guarantees a lifetime of full access. If, however, they would like to attend one of our Black Member events then they must play and earn StrategyPoints.

The first Black Member Event is free for each Black Member, but subsequent events require a ticket, which is granted when 33,000 StrategyPoints are earned in a four month period. With the purchase of a Diamond package, you'd have 30,000 of those points already and would only have to play for the remaining 3,000 StrategyPoints. Therefore, in this case, our Black Member would have access to almost three events per year for $3,990.

Others certainly appreciate the special VIP service that we offer, where we're often able to help out with bigger problems with poker rooms and sometimes even legal problems. This is an especially attractive service for those players with very large bankrolls or large winnings.

Question: What's happening with the Gold status?

Answer: We consider our Gold status to be our bread and butter. For approximately $20/month - based on a 12 month package for $249 - you gain access to videos, live coaching, strategy articles and professional hand evaluation in 19 different languages. From a pricing perspective, we've positioned ourselves lower than the offerings of many other big subscription content providers.

Of course, there's still room for improvement in our offering, independent of a subscription, and we intend to expand the Gold status such that we provide everything a player needs to learn and succeed in poker, up to NL200. Your feedback on that specifically is welcomed in our Feedback and Suggestions forum.

Question: And the Silver status?

Answer: First off, those of you who actively play poker and have a tracked account should have few problems in achieving the Silver status simply by playing; not least because of the fact that 10 bonus points are awarded for each day that you earn at least one StrategyPoint in rake or tournament fees.

That's why we've priced the Silver status very competitively. The price for a 12 month subscription is only a little more than $4/month and you have access to 750 videos in the English language, in addition to all of our other content. For ambitious beginners and recreational players, we believe this offers excellent value for money.
