iPoker Network: New Rake Distribution Method from March 5

From March 5, all poker rooms running on the iPoker network will use the "weighted contributed" method instead of "average contributed". As a result, Poker770, William Hill and Titan Poker introduced a fixed rate for VIP points/$1 rake.

ipoker networkWe previously announced here that the iPoker network planned to switch cash game rake distribution from "average contributed" to "weighted contributed".

Old vs. new rake distribution systems

The old system rewarded all players that contributed to a raked pot with an equal share of VIP Points, regardless of their contribution to the pot. Example: if three players contributed to a pot worth a total of 30 VIP Points, they will each earn 10 VIP Points, even though one of them was just folding pre-flop in the small blind.

Under the new system, the players' contribution to the pot will determine the amount of VIP Points they will get. Example: three players reach a flop and get involved into a pot worth a total of 30 VIP Points. Let's say the players contributed with 40%, 40% and 20% respectively to the pot. This means they will earn 12, 12 and 6 VIP Points respectively.

Poker770, William Hill and Titan Poker react to rake distribution changes

Three of our iPoker partner rooms have already made some changes as a result of this new rake distribution method. Please note that the changes apply to cash games only.

1. Poker770

The first thing you might notice is that micro stakes cash game players are now getting more Points770 for every dollar of rake they pay. This will increase the amount of value that players get across all VIP levels at Poker770. Thanks to this change, micro stakes players will clear bonuses and reach a more rewarding VIP level at a faster rate.

With the recent changes, it is now more profitable to try the Poker770 micro stakes. The good news is that you can try it without paying a single cent - sign up now for a Poker770 account and we'll give you $7.70 to start your poker career there:

2. William Hill

Unlike the Poker770 changes, William Hill will apply their changes at all cash game limits. With this new system, cash game players at William Hill will now be able to clearly see how many points they earn for every dollar of rake that they paid. The old system was not able to clearly say how many points a player would get because it depended on several factors like the size of the pot.

3. Titan Poker

Titan Poker Points Allocation Changes
USD tables EUR tables GBP tables Tournament tables*
15 Titan Points/$1 rake 18 Titan Points/€1 rake 21 Titan Points/£1 rake 17 Titan Points/$1 rake

At a first glance, the gap between cash games and tournaments at Titan Poker is relatively smaller than the one on William Hill or Poker770. This results in a smaller gap for maximum rakeback that can be achieved per VIP level as a cash game player compared to a tournament player.

Find out more about this in our Titan Poker VIP club thread.

You can create a new Titan Poker account and benefit from a 200% up to $2,000 first deposit bonus. Click below for more information:
