Bankroll Management for the Bigstack Strategy

Your roadmap with the BigStack Strategy

The following suggestions are a good medium course between a quick ascension and a low risk of getting broke. Of course everybody has to decide for themselves what their comfort zone is, but I wouldn't recommend deviating from our path. You may choose to play more conservatively if you don't like to switch between the different limits so frequently.

To play the big stack strategy you should have at least a bankroll of 20 stacks. If you climb up the limits to NL50 or higher you should have more stacks (at least 25).

To start with the big stack strategy you need at least $100. With these $100 you start at the $0.02/$0.04 tables.

Level 1: NL $0.02/$0.04

Move up to level 2 with: $200

You should play NL $0.02/$0.04 until you have $200 on your account. Then you should move up to level 2, playing NL $0.5/$0.10

Level 2: NL $0.5/$0.10

Move up to level 3 with: $500

Move down to level 1: $100

So when you fall down to $100 you should go back to level 1.

Level 3: NL $0.10/$0.25

Move up to level 4 with: $1250

Move down to level 2: $200

Level 4: NL $0.25/$0.50

Move down to level 3: $500

Once you have reached level 4: Congratulations! You achieved something most people fail. From here on you should have enough experience to decide by yourself which limits you can play with which bankroll.

Table Selection

At the beginning you have two options where you can play. The normal tables or the beginner tables. The advantage of the beginner tables is that there you will of course only find beginners. Every new member at PartyPoker can play at the beginner tables the first 45 days after his registration. Of course the same rule applies to you.
