Looking Back at 2008 - Content, Content, Content

With 2009 we are kicking off a new year, with new content, new goals, and new ideas! Yet first let us take a look back at the year that has passed and review some of the things that have happened.

While the English community is still growing, we have already come a long way since the start of last year.  Over a hundred new articles, videos and thousands of hand evaluations later, we now stand at the beginning of a new year and take a look back at some of our achievements.

the Video section

Thanks to our excellent video producers such as hasenbraten, xarry2, thenose, unam, chenny8888, terrorblade, cornholio and atuerke since 2008 our video section has grown by over 100 videos with thousands of views each.

New video formats such as Session reviews have expanded in popularity and along with other theoretical videos are quickly becoming the norm in terms of video production.  Especially xarry2 and hasenbraten have produced some very solid theoretical videos using the hand replayer.

ArtiCLES, columns, Quizes and new formats

In additional to a lot of extra materials such as the Columns in the additional materials section, we have released or revised over 120 articles.  These are not only more concise and themed, but also contain new features such as interactive flash quizzes.

Additionally implemented were our Omaha, Stud hi/lo and Live Poker sections. Some of the articles like our Silver Psychology Series on Tilt, were especially well received.

In the near future you can look forward to even more new articles as our entire basic, bronze and silver sections are being revised.

Coachings overview 2008

With more than 20 coachings a week, for all different status ranks, we have attracted thousands upon thousands of listeners.  Since the beginning of the year we have not only added new formats, such as Omaha and MTTs, but also expanded the NL, FL and SNG offerings.  

 

TOP Coaching

The record coaching in terms of visitor numbers was our Special 6 Max coaching which peaked at over 200 listeners.  We hope to repeat this format in the new year and to expand it to Fixed Limit as well.

HAnd Evaluations

With more than 15,000 posted and evaluated hands the English community is the second most active community in terms of hand evaluation. 

It is one of the best ways to improve your game and an ever growing number of users are utilizing this great offering.  Our active users and professional hand judges make the strategy forums one of the most active forums of the English community. Many thanks go out to all the users and hand judges such as frzl, kaitz20, chenny8888, tribuncaesar, ysessa, srohack, gervcirith and sim87 that have made these forums to the success that they are.

Software: Elephant & Co

PokerStrategy Elephant

At the end of last year we started the development of our new software tool - PokerStrategy Elephant. Already in the March of this year the first Alpha Testversion 0.17 was completed.

Since then the development has been continuous. By now Elephant is already in its fifth version.

Up until now we have registered more than 254.189 Downloads. More than 10,000 community members are approximately regularly using our analysis tool - as such this is the largest active community of a tracker software. With seven supported partner platforms,  Elephant has over 350 single Statistical values.


Software-Head and Elephant-Developer 6Wishmaster6 commented the current status of PokerStrategy-Elephant:

"Our Mantis (Bug-Tracking Software) has 4500 reported and nearly completely resolved cases that have resulted from bug reports and feature wishes. Left are just a few known smaller bugs, compared to the thousands we have already fixed. They are joined by a host of feature wishes that we look forward to tackling in the coming year.

We are quite satisfied with the current version of Elephant since it already offers more features than ever before. Yet only a glance at the features that we are still looking to implement shows: We are only at the beginning of the development. The software is looking forward to another year of added code and added features for the community.


The quick development was only possible with the active help of our community. With your help we were able to fix many of the countless bugs, while constantly receiving valuable input for improvement. Many thanks for all of your feedback!"

The PokerStrategy-Equilator

Yet another child of PokerStrategy has grown up: The Equilator.
Around 2 weeks ago we released the latest version (1.6) which leaves nearly no requested feature unfulfilled and works without problems.

Outlook
