Although the starting hands jacks and tens usually look good, they will confront you with big problems in many situations. There are hardly any preflop or postflop situations in which they are easy to play, since you will rarely know where exactly you stand with them.

In the long run, it is these tough spots that decide whether you are playing profitably or investing your money in the wrong spots too often. It is at least just as bad to skip value bets or fold the best hand.
