Average Pre-flop Ranges: TAG

The average ranges in NL10 are the basis for your handreading and for your own determination of your opponents' ranges. These average ranges have been determined by online poker experts using tracking software.

Average ranges of a TAG in NL10

A TAG will attract much attention pre-flop. From an early position, he is just as tight as a nit. The biggest difference between these two player types is seen in their ranges in steal situations. There the open raise range and calling range of a TAG is far looser than the corresponding ranges of a nit.

A TAG plays in between 17% and 25% of all hands on average, so about 10% more hands than a nit.

Comparison of a TAG and a nit

The call and 3-bet ranges of a nit do not differ from those of a TAG. The biggest difference lies in the open raise range; a TAG open raises significantly more often than a nit, especially in steal situations, meaning at the CO, BU and SB.
